Homeowners: Do your homework... Like in many professions - not all service providers are the same! |

Unfortunately, the lawn sprinkler industry in the state of Michigan is not licensed and is unregulated. Anybody can do anything and say anything they want and not be accountable to anyone. We're sad to report that we see this happening to unsuspecting customers almost every day.
The old adage still applies today:
The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
We personally have gotten so fed up with what's going on with (so called) professionals in our industry that we've become involved with some like-minded contractors who want a change. Currently we are trying to get legislation passed in the state of Michigan to protect you, the consumer, from these people. State licensing is our goal with some basic standards and educational requirements for all irrigation contractors.
| Here are a few ideas to ensure choosing a reputable contractor: | |
Ask for references No references, no happy customers |
|
Ask for supplier references If they are on COD with their supplier, good indication they won't be around very long |
|
Ask for insurance coverage You would be surprised at the number of contractors without insurance |
|
Ask how long they have been in business Unfortunately most new contractors last less than 5 years |
|
Ask if you're getting head-to-head 200% coverage Anything less will cost you money |
|
Ask if you're getting a smart or dumb sprinkler system If they don't know... just call us |
